Painting and Sculpture
I have taken on many commissions over the past years from abstract sculpture and painted murals for schools, pubs and clubs to private commissions for portraits of children or friends and family. In the case of portraits, I like to get some sketches of the sitter, which usually takes no more than an hour or so, then I will take a number of photographs from a variety of angles. It is always a bit of a daunting task to commission a piece of Art work, especially when you see the prices of some of the more famous paintings and sculptures being sold at auction, but in reality a piece of art is not that much more expensive than a large framed print or sculpture from any of the large department stores. A portrait done in oil paints 40cm x 30 cm is £120 and a sculpture portrait, 20cm high, is the same price (Tinted Plaster) and an orginal piece of Art work will normally increase in value.
